Nursery World Awards Finalists

We are delighted to announce we have been shortlisted for the Nursery World Awards 2019 in the ‘Working with Babies and Toddlers’ category for our ‘Baby Room Project’. We are immensely proud of this achievement!

The aim of The Baby Room Project is to raise the quality of babies’ experiences by creating a fun, sustainable and exciting project that enlightens practitioners and parents about their baby’s brain
development & empowers practitioners working with young infants to be confident and passionate about their vital work.

The project has been devised from using the training from the Northamptonshire Baby room project and the 1001 critical days movement along with the substantial knowledge and training from staff at the nursery.

At the Old Forge, our practitioners receive regular ‘Baby Project’ training and apply the methods and theories in their everyday practice. We are also currently running a ‘Baby Project Group’ aimed at parents with babies, so that we can share our in-depth knowledge and experiences.

Practitioners observe children in their care not only from a developmental approach but looking at what makes a baby smile what makes them happy, how do they react to sounds etc this is done in close partnership with parents.
